What are the best beaches in Ibiza?

Got beach FOMO? We feel you, but Ibiza really sets the scene when it comes to beach bumming. From long, sandy stretches to bustling family-friendly spots and quiet little coves just begging to be slapped on your Insta feed...there's a corner of coast for everyone on an Ibiza holiday. If you're looking for the top beaches in Ibiza, deffo keep these on your radar:

  • Playa d’en Bossa – the longest beach on the island, with 2km of soft sands backed by bars and restaurants for a cheeky snack or tipple

  • Santa Eulalia – a family-favourite thanks to its shallow waters, water sports and palm-shaded promenade

  • Benirrás – a pretty pebbled beach known for its clear waters, iconic sunsets and Sunday drumming rituals, where locals gather to ‘drum down the sunset’

  • Puerto de San Miguel – more than just a beer - this sandy beach is a must-visit spot, sheltered by pine-covered hills and rocky cliffs

  • S’llot des Rencli – a quiet cove sheltered by rocks - this tiny beach is one of Ibiza’s best kept secrets

  • Playa de Talamanca - lined with restaurants rather than beach clubs, this stretch of coastline is perfect for families, and it's wide enough to find a quite spot to plonk down a towel

  • Cala Vadella - nestled on the West Coast, this gorge beach is in a sheltered bay, meaning the little ones have some calm water to paddle in and you can slap your snorkel on and sneak a peek beneath the water.

  • Platja de S’Arenal - San Antonio Bay’s main beach has everything you need for the perfect beach day - soft sand, calm waters and loads of bars and restaurants to dip in and out of. Bliss.

  • Cala de Sant Vicent - our favourite spot on the North of the island, and a great place to escape the busier resorts on your Ibiza holiday. Think glassy-clear waters, sunbeds for rent and a supermarket for your drinks and snacks - what more could you ask for?!

  • Punta des Trencs - this quiet spot can be found on the West coast and is well worth a visit. Kids will love spending the day poking around in the rockpools - just make sure you’ve packed the sea shoes if you plan on exploring!

Ibiza travel guide

🥳 Things to do in Ibiza for groups

If you and the squad are channelling your inner Vengaboys and going to Ibiza (🎶) then you're in for a treat. The party scene is the stuff of legends, with pool parties and big-name DJs by day, and neon beach parties by night (...and then morning). If you're looking to party without going too crazy, then be sure to add Café Mambo to your bar crawl. It's *the* place to catch an iconic sunset, but you'll have cocktails, snacks and live DJ sets for a beachside boogie. It's just asking for a spot on the Insta stories.

And if you and the crew are looking for something more boujee than boogie, don't stress. There are plenty of luxury holidays in Ibiza, for all your Bali-bed-lounging, poolside-sipping needs.

❤️ Things to do in Ibiza for couples

Nothing says romance like swanky hotels right by the beach and cocktail-slurping at sunset. If you're looking to level-up the ol' Netflix and Chill game, then this is your spot. Can't wait to get away? Snap up a last-minute holiday to Ibiza for a romantic break filled with delish food, mega views and an Old Town that'll give you something to do every night (unless you had other plans). Think pretty cobbled streets with all those white-washed buildings you've seen online, an old cathedral for your history fix, and cute little bars for the perfect date night backdrop. Goals.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Things to do in Ibiza for families

Hotels in Ibiza aren't just about raving 'til dawn and trying every cocktail on the menu. There are plenty of options for the kiddos too, and the flight time is short-but-sweet which makes it even more ideal. Cala Bassa Beach is where it's at for maximum fun in the sun, with rock pools for exploring, snorkels for donning and soft sand for castle-building. Local beaches also have tons of watersport options - from pedalos to banana boats - if you've got an active bunch. Why not do one better and bag an all-inclusive Ibiza holiday? That way you'll have all your on-site activities, meals, drinks and snacks (yep, including ice cream) included. Absolutely no chance of a tantrum there. (Apart from when Dad loses at mini golf.)

💰 How to do Ibiza on a budget

This place might be known for its swanky hotels and VIP beach clubs, but you can absolutely do a cheap holiday to Ibiza. For starters, admiring the views and sunsets is completely free, and that's probably going to be how you spend most of your holiday... But as for budget-friendly hotels in Ibiza, there are loads. Staying out of the centre is more likely to give you a cheaper price point, and if you're up for walking to the local areas, then you don't need to pay to have everything on site. Our tip? Don't sleep on the local hippy markets. They're full of bargains, not to mention proper Spanish culture.

💃 Where to go for stag and hen parties in Ibiza

Ibiza is the place to be if you're planning an epic send-off that the bride and groom won't forget (depending how many margaritas are involved). A catamaran cruise is the perfect way to take your party to the next level, with free-flowing drinks on board, bangin' beats and incredible views while you're at it. And for all the sea-sick stags and hens? Ibiza's got loads of legendary spots to keep the party on land - from O Beach with its Insta-worthy pool parties to Ushuaia Ibiza with its world-class DJs and celeb guests. Just keep in mind that not all hotels are stag and hen-friendly, so double check before you book - because that would really kill the vibe.

Ibiza, the White Isle, has the weather vibes on lock just like it does its clubbing scene. Think beach days, pool parties and watching the sunset with a cocktail in hand. From June to September, the temperature gets its groove on between a toasty 25-30°C. Trust me, this is the "summer lovin'" you've been dreaming of!

But don't fret, the off-peak months in Ibiza also hit all the right notes. The weather in Ibiza is a pleasant 18-25°C in both the Spring and Autumn months. It's the perfect backdrop for exploring the island's gorgeous old towns and hidden beaches.

But here's the real kicker - even in the winter, Ibiza doesn't drop the beat. The temperature usually hovers around a cool but comfortable 10-15°C, perfect for some peaceful beachside yoga or hiking in the pine forests on your Ibiza holidays.

So, whether you're after scorching sunshine or mild Mediterranean days, Ibiza weather is always ready to bring the party.

What’s the time difference between the UK/Ireland and Ibiza?

Ibiza is one hour ahead of the UK/Ireland - so even more excuse to head straight out once the cases are dropped off.

What currency do they use in Ibiza?

Ibiza is located in Spain, so the local currency is the Euro.

What language do they speak in Ibiza?

The official language spoken in Ibiza is Spanish.

How easy is it to travel around Ibiza?

Buses in Ibiza are clean, air-conditioned and only a couple of euros for a ride. The only problem is, the routes are a bit limited, so depending where you want to go, a bus might not be your best option.

If you're in the town centre, then chances are you'll see a lot of scooters nipping about. These are available to hire all over the island, and are a popular mode of transport to help locals get from A to B. Plus, it's good fun! If that's not really your thing, though, then you can always stick to a regular taxi to get around. You can spot official taxis by the green or red light on top, and they run on a metre. They can be a bit tricky to flag down, so your best bet might be heading straight to a taxi rank, or downloading an app such as TaxiClick which helps you track local taxis.

For parts of the island that are trickier to reach by car, water taxis are a fave form of transport among locals. You can find information boards near the Egg Roundabout (it's named accordingly, you'll know it when you see it). San Antonio harbour has loads of these handy little crafts shipping people from beach to beach on a daily basis.

Which is the quiet part of Ibiza?

Ibiza might be known for its pool parties and thumping beats, but that's not all it's about. For a more peaceful break, check out quieter resorts like Cala Tarida. This cute little town is hidden away in a sandy bay which benefits from sunshine all day long. There are no nightclubs here, but there is a cracking selection of bars and restaurants right by the sea.

Portinatx is another laidback resort if you'd rather skip the party scene. It's positioned at the north of the island, and it has three beaches up its sleeve, along with snorkelling and diving activities, and a popular hiking trail up to the highest lighthouse in the Balearics. Perfect for swapping those dancing shoes for hiking boots!

What time of year is cheapest to go to Ibiza?

Like most holiday destinations, low season is the cheapest time to visit Ibiza, which is typically anytime between November and February. Facilities might be a bit on the limited side during this time, but don't worry - you're still looking at average temperatures of 16-19°C, which is a heck of a lot better than the winter season back home.

Alternatively, if you've got wiggle room, then April and May are a great all-rounder for toasty beach weather, availability of facilities, and cheap prices compared to the peak of summer.
