What are the best beaches in Es Cana?

There are three fab beaches within walking distance of the resort, each offering something different. Lots of other spots are within easy reach by car or bike too. Here’s what you can expect:

Es Caná Beach – The central beach is a glorious curve of golden sands and clear waters. The safe seas make it a popular location for families, while the surrounding bars ensure that it’s always cocktail o’clock for grown-ups.
Cala Nova Beach – A ten-minute walk will get you to the wild beauty of this beach. The choppy shallows make for fun swimming, plus on windier days all the surfers come out to play.
Cala Martina Beach - In the other direction you’ll find this well-protected pocket of calm for sunbathers. It’s also the main hub for water sports fun.
Aigües Blanques - Dramatic cliffs for photos and a reef for snorkelling make this hidden beach well worth a trip
Playa Niu Blau - The perfect spot to get away from it all and enjoy a cold beer in the shade of the pine trees.

Rock the boat

For an even greater escape, take a ferry from the beach to Formentera. The island can only be reached by boat and is home to lots of beautiful caves and coves to explore. It’s also known for its nudist beaches if that’s your thing!

What’s the food like in Es Cana?
Ibizan cuisine is full of seafood delights and traditional Spanish flavours. You’ll find plenty of paella and tapas treats, plus dishes unique to the island like these:
- Parrillada de Pescado - A mixed seafood grill found in beachside bars, made with the day’s fresh catch.
- Zarzuela - A shellfish stew highly flavoured with saffron, lemon juice, and bay leaf.

The Balearic Govt. charge a sustainable tourism tax on all overnight stays which is payable on arrival in the hotel. From 1st January 2018 this increased to:

5-star & 4-star superior hotels: €4 per day4-star & 3-star superior hotels: €3 per day1-star, 2-star & 3-star hotels: €2 per day

Exclusions: Children under the age of 16 are exempt from the tax and long-term holidaymakers may be subject to a 50% discount starting from the ninth day of their stay onwards. There is also a 75% discount in low season between 1st November and 30th April each year.
