The town sits between two coasts, so you get double the beaches for your money! Now you're talking. They come in all shapes and sizes, but they all slope into the area's famous crystal-clear waters. Here are a few of our favourite spots:
Playa de Alcudia – of course we had to shout out this one. Stretching as far as 7km, this is the longest sandy beach in Majorca, so you're always guaranteed a sunbathing spot!
Playa de Sant Pere – this beach might be small but it packs a punch, with shallow waters ideal for the kids as well as sun loungers to rent and a beach bar during summer.
Playa de Sant Joan – a favourite with locals, this rugged beach overlooks Pollensa Bay and is relatively close to the city centre. Get here early during the summer season, because this place is popular!
Playa d’Alcanada – sometimes referred to as Aucanada, this pebbled cove is framed by a small pine forest which is perfect if you prefer to sit in the shade, and it's a popular spot for locals enjoying picnics and barbecues.
Platja des Coll Baix – named the most beautiful beach in the area, this secluded cove is well worth the walk, drive or boat trip to get there. You'll know you're at the right place when you're greeted by friendly mountain goats.
