What better place to waste away the troubles of the day to day than with a week or two of sun-soaked paradise? Take in picture-perfect beach settings, with wide-open stretches of clean white sands, palm trees swaying in the coastal breeze and dreamy sunsets over the horizon… it’s like a scene from a daydream.

Beaches

A grainy golden stretch of beautiful Balearic sands, the Can Pastilla Beach is always bustling with holidaymakers and locals making the most of that radiant year-round sunshine. This wavy open cove offers dazzling shallow blue waters, perfect for a quick dip, a snorkelling trip or some splashing family fun. Roll out your towel, crack open a beer and get your tan on, or simply drift off for an afternoon snooze under the shady palm trees, for a taste of true beachside tranquillity. If you’re feeling all beached out, take a break from the sands for a stroll along the pretty coastal path, which also makes a great spot for a breezy bike ride too! Keep on strolling along the beachfront and you’ll stumble on some cosy local cafes and open-air beach restaurants with the smell of home-cooked Paella lingering in the air. Cool off from the sun with a glass of freshly-squeezed orange juice, available at every other store, you’re sure to find a refreshing spot of lunch perfectly suited to you along this fantastic promenade. Let the beachside breeze blow through your hair as you tuck into a delicious bite to eat with the ones you love.

Food & Drink

This Catalan country has plenty of dishes that are sure to get your taste buds tingling, from tasty tapas dishes and delicious cured meats to rustic breads and hearty stews, prepare for a world full of Mediterranean flavours. As the sun rises in the morning, tuck into the traditional breakfast delicacy Ensaïmada . This light, fluffy and flaky croissant-style pastry is left to rise for up to 48-hours, giving it a paper-thin consistency. Oh, and it goes perfectly with your morning coffee too! One of our favourite island dishes is tumbet , which takes a Majorcan twist on the traditional ratatouille . Layers of soft, fried vegetables and potatoes are drizzled in a garlicky tomato sauce and baked in the oven. This little dish from heaven can be served as tapas, a side dish or even a main course.

Culture

Originally an old fishing village, the dainty narrow streets of Can Pastilla are perfect for exploring. Discover small souvenir shops, traditional family-run restaurants and cute cosy cafés, where locals flock for a mid-day siesta. This is a great place to try out some of the traditional island cuisine, as the locals truly know how to perfect these famous island dishes! Be sure not to miss out on the Can Pastilla markets. Every Tuesday and Thursday morning, you can stroll along the beachfront promenade and browse the variety of bustling stalls on display.

Nightlife

Along the beachfront promenade, you can find plenty of bars serving delicious tropical cocktails under the moonlight, with the coastal evening breeze setting the scene for a lovely laid-back evening. If you’re after something a little more lively, there’s also a few up-beat Irish bars to choose from, where jolly tunes play loudly and pints of Guinness are served until the early hours of the morning. For those that fancy getting their groove on and venturing out after midnight, head to Lunita nightclub. This bouncing venue has some awesome tunes and there’s even a pool terrace too!
