What are the best beaches in Agadir?

But even if you'd rather plonk down a towel and not move an inch (we feel ya), there are plenty of beach spots 'round these parts to give you those laidback coastal vibes. Give these a whirl:
Agadir Beach - duh, we couldn't not mention this one. It's the main event, decked out with sun loungers and watersport facilities, and backed by a promenade lined with cafés and shops
Taghazout Beach - located to the north of the city with a laidback, hippy charm, this place is an absolute surf haven if you fancy riding the waves
Imourane Beach - close to Taghazout, this stretch is a bit less crowded and known for its laidback surf scenes and killer sunsets
TiguertBay - if you want to avoid the crowds, this beach is a fave with the wellness crowd - come along for some peace and quiet, or a cheeky horseback ride at sunset
Sidi R'bat - a cool and calm spot that's popular with the local twitchers, thanks to the diverse bird population that tends to hang around here
Banana Point - a gorg stretch of beach that's another great surf spot, offering camel and buggy rides if that's your bag
Imi Ouadder Beach - this sand spot is lesser-known by tourists, making it the ideal uncrowded setting for a chilled beach day or a peaceful surf, followed by a trip to the local markets and souks
Anza Beach - there are over 6km of golden sands to flop onto here, perfect for a spot of sunbathing or a cheeky beach stroll, and the constant waves make it another prime spot for surfers, too!

Agadir's the kind of place where the sun clocks in for a full-time gig, and the weather's more reliable than your fave comfort show for a pick-me-up. Even in spring you'll see temperatures hover at a toasty 20°C - ideal for exploring without getting too much of a sweat on. The evenings are a bit fresh at this time of year, so you might just need a jumper or light jacket.
In summer, the sun comes out full force, sending temps up to a scorching 26°C in the peak of July and August. That's the kind of weather where you can slather yourself in SPF and bake on the beach for a few days.
If you're looking to jet off later in the year, we've got good news. Even autumn sees averages of 21°C-25°C, and unlike the weather back home, winter temps still sit at a comfy 18°C - 20°C. Winter time without thermals, woolly socks and raincoats. Can you even imagine?!

Aghroud, also known as Rainbow Village, is a cute little fishing village that's home to a golden beach offering camel rides and watersports, but what really gives it its character, are the lines of multicoloured houses along the coast. It's got all the charm of a British seaside town but with a sizzling climate. This is your place to sunbathe, swim, snap pics of the colourful coastline, and watch the fishermen work.
Explore Agadir Marina
If you fancy a snoop at some of the most boujee boats and yachts of Morocco's upper-class peeps, then you're gonna want to stop by Agadir Marina. And even if you couldn't give two hoots about that, it's still a great place to enjoy a stroll in the sunshine, enjoy a spot of lunch overlooking the water, or grab some souvenirs from the local shops dotted along the promenade.
Go for a ride at Xtreme Park
This whopper of an amusement park is a top attraction for you and the kiddos, decked out with a funfair, a House of Horrors, a karting track and a bunch of rides to get that adrenaline pumping. The best part is, entry is totally FREE, and you just pay for tokens for the specific rides and attractions you fancy a go on. We recommend giving the Bumper Boats a whirl, which are like dodgems but on water, and a right laugh.
Get your surf on
We've been ranting and raving about how bangin' the beaches and surf scenes are around here, so it'd be a bit rude not to grab a board and take it for a spin, right? Taghazout is one of the most recognised spots for some serious surf action, even during the winter months, so what're you waiting for? Catch those waves, dude.
Learn something new at Agadir Oufella
Buckle up, history buffs! Believe us when we say you're gonna want to check out this 16th-century fortress. It's the most-visited historical monument in Agadir and usually tops the list on any city tour, so if that doesn't tell you how iconic it is, we don't know what will. You can dive deep inside the fortress to see the old walkways and read all about the history before the earthquake, or you can just admire the architecture from the outside and take in the panoramic views of the city (which will save you some dosh, too!).
Seek out some bargains at Souk El Had
This is the central shopping area in Agadir, and probably one of the most famous spots. It's way more than your average market, with a maze of over 6,000 stalls to explore, and as Monica from Friends would be pleased to hear, it's all perfectly organised and categorised, so you can find exactly what you're looking for. You'll find a mix of everything, from books and gadgets to pottery and spices - so bring some Moroccan Dirham and prepare to barter like your mum's fridge magnet depends on it.

Places to visit
Crocopark
Part zoo, part park and part botanical garden - this attraction is a crowd-pleaser for the whole fam. Originally set up to keep crocs out of harm's way, you'll find over 300 Nile crocs and some super cool green iguanas here. You can follow the circuit around the park to watch them go about their business, then enjoy a peaceful wander through the botanical gardens packed with exotic plants, admire the pretty cactus gardens, and let the kiddos blow off steam at the playground, kitted out with a monkey bridge, waterslides and fake croc photo ops. There's even an on-site restaurant so you can enjoy a bite on the outdoor terrace while watching the crocodiles splash about in the pond below.
Agadir Medina
Before you even strut through the doors of this place, we guarantee your jaw will be on the floor. The structure was rebuilt back in 1992 after an earthquake damaged the original building in the '60s. Special attention was made to restore the building to its former glory, with respect for the traditional construction techniques and style. You'll find it tucked just 15 minutes outside of the centre, stretching over 13 acres and combining a museum, a space for art workshops, and a bazaar for local painters, craftsmen, jewellers and carpenters to showcase their work. Just a heads up that if you do plan on bagging a few souvenirs, most stalls will only take cash, so make sure you've got some Moroccan Dirham on you.
Paradise Valley
With a name like 'Paradise Valley', the bar's already set sky-high, but trust us when we say this place lives up to it. Tucked away in the Atlas Mountains, this section of the Tamraght River combines lush palms, rock pools, rivers and waterfalls in an enchanted forest scene. It doesn't matter whether you're looking to hike, cliff-jump, swim or simply sunbathe on the rocks (or a bit of everything!) - this place has you covered. There are even natural waterslides carved right into the rocks, so you can make a splash in the most magical setting (no scorching-hot plastic that squeaks with every move!). Plus, the entrance to the valley has stands dishing up veggie tagines and delish Berber omelettes, so you don't have to worry about going hungry. We're becoming more and more convinced that this place actually is paradise...
