There are Roman remains in the town which are well worth a visit. Nearby Lagos is also worth seeing, a traditional fishing village surrounded by Roman walls. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to explore, all with a chilled out atmosphere and plenty of style. There's enough to keep you occupied for your entire stay but if you do fancy a change you can always take a trip to one of the nearby towns. Lagos offers a great selection of bars which stay open until the early hours while Alvor, a little further east, is also well worth the trip for the relaxing atmosphere.
