Although the weather in South Africa varies from region to region, its position in the southern hemisphere means that the country’s summer begins in December, so it's a perfect pick for a winter sun jolly.

When you're on your holiday to South Africa, Winter really is a rogue shining star seeing temps fluctuate between 30°C and 15°C depending on where you're staying - although 15°C being as bad as it gets is us having a good day in June half the time so you're onto a winner. We reckon this is prime time to flit around the beaches and soak up some sun.

Spring see's a lil bit of a dip, but nothing worth swerving with temps swaying from 28°C to 7°C - again depending on what part you're visiting, Johannesburg is dropping to 7°C while Cape Town sits strong at 12°C. If you time it right you can still lap up the sunshine, or take the cooler temps as the perfect opportunity to make your way along some hiking trails.

Summer rolls around and brings the Wintery chill - maybe the perfect time for cafe hopping and sight seeing with a coat to hand. Don't get it twisted though, the temps aren't sub-zero, in fact they still make our Winter's look so much worse with temps sitting between 24°C and 4°C - it really does depend where you go... we'll stop saying this.

It's time for the heat to crank back up as we shimmy on into Autumn with temps climbing up to highs of 28°C and dropping to lows of 9°C - this might be the best time to come if you're not about hot hot temps all day long, but still wanna snag yourself some prime tanning time. Even better, if you choose now for your holiday to South Africa you'll be besting the Summer holiday crowds.
