Spa & Wellness Holidays

Spa Holidays

Sometimes, slapping a couple of cucumber slices on your eyelids and typing 'relaxing playlist' into Spotify just doesn't quite cut the self-care mustard. And, of course, by sometimes, we mean most of the time. From a classic pamper sesh to steamy saunas, Turkish baths and gin-and-tonic inspired massages (yeah, it's a thing), we've picked out a bunch of hotels that get a big fat 10/10 for zen vibes. Doesn't matter if you're travelling with your partner in crime, bringing the whole squad along or flying solo - we think it's about time you swapped that 10-minute face mask for a full week (or two) of you-time. All in favour of dunking into a Jacuzzi that's got more bubbles than your glass of fizz, say 'aye.' 🙋

Best hotels for a spa holiday

When it comes to getting your pamper on, this relaxing little trio know what's up. Hold onto your fluffy bathrobe (apart from when you're ready for a Jacuzzi dunk), 'cause Melia Costa del Sol's coming through with Bali beds for your chilled pool days and a thalasso spa for the ultimate self-care sesh. Then there's Cascade Wellness & Lifestyle Resort where the name literally says it all - expect a decked-out spa with hot tubs, ice fountains and bespoke pamper packages here, while Hotel Monte Mulini is all about perfecting that day-to-night routine. It's the kind of place where you can relax with a G&T-infused massage by day, then down a few actual G&Ts by night. Count us in 🍸

Spa holidays in the Balearics

What could be more relaxing than a hotel near the beach? A hotel near the beach with a spa, obvs. That's what these beauts in the Balearics are all about, so you can go from that sand-between-your-toes feeling to that massage-oil-in-all-your-nooks-and-crannies feeling in a jiffy. Beach vibes 🤝 zen vibes.

Spa holidays in the Canaries

Forget measly spa corners with a couple of massage tables - these hotels in the Canaries are decked out with the full shebang. We're talking seawater treatments (what else?), hydromassage pools, sanariums (don't worry, we had to Google it too), ice fountains and emotional showers - which, FYI, is the name for a colour-changing, temperature-changing shower - not the kind of shower where you stand under the water staring into the abyss listening to Adele. Although what you get up to in your own time is your business 🤷

Spa holidays in Thailand

What better way to unwind after a long-haul flight than with a week-long spa session? And let's be honest, is it really a holiday to Thailand if you didn't go for a Thai massage while you were there? (Answer: no.) These guys have everything you need for a bit of R&R, from the award-winning spa at Banyan Tree Bangkok (no biggie), to the 100% natural treatments used at Kalima Resort & Spa, and the super-quick, super-snazzy pre-spa survey that Avani Pattaya offers, so they can help you pick whether you'll benefit most from a boosting, balancing, calming or purifying treatment based on how you're feeling. That's proper VIP stuff right there. We've just added this place to our 2025 holidays bucketlist. Annual leave request, pending...

What is a spa holiday?

Well, aside from an absolute DREAM... it's essentially a stay at a hotel with spa facilities. Simple! More often than not, you'll get free access to all the standard spa stuff, and then the more personalised treatments like massages will cost you a bit extra - but it's always worth checking the hotel website to see exactly what's included. No one wants to rain on your pamper parade.

What are the benefits of spa holidays?

Crikey. Where do we start? Think of it as the best self-care sesh you've ever had, but it lasts longer than just a single night, or a weekend. We know. Dreamy, right? You'll have all the facilities right on your doorstep, so you can go from beach to pool to pamper as much as you want. It's like having a Jacuzzi in your living room. Or a sauna in your back garden. Or a massage table in your bedroom, but let's not pull on that thread. It's your chance to de-stress and press the 'reset' button on your emotional and physical health. Hello, new you 👋

Can spa holidays be cheap?

Well, yeah, if you book with us. Too cocky? Sorry. But we're not kidding. We've got bags of hotels with on-site spas where you can enjoy a cheeky sauna sesh on the house or fork out a bit extra for a full bespoke pamper if you're feeling boujee. We've got deals hotter than the steam room and FlexiPay plans that make the booking process smoother than your bod after a salt scrub, so whichever spa hotel you pick, your wallet's in safe hands. We like to think of it as treating yourself, without the morning-after regret.

How old do you have to be to visit the spa?

The minimum age for the spa can vary from hotel to hotel, so make sure you read up on this before you go. 14 years is usually the absolute minimum, but more often than not you'll find that spa facilities are strictly adults-only - either 16+ or 18+. Sorry kiddos. Mama needs her downtime.

What do you wear under a robe at the spa?

Well, we're the holiday experts, not the fashion experts. Having said that, we have seen that episode of Friends where Chandler accidentally gets his kit off for the Jacuzzi, and we can 100% say that we NEVER want to end up in that predicament. What you need to wear under your robe typically depends on what treatments you've booked in for, but swimwear is your safest bet, because it covers you for all steam room/indoor pool/hot tub bases. In terms of what swimwear, that one's on you. If you want to get your itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini out, you do you.
