Have recently returned from a 10 day stay at the Hotel Marquesa.
We were really looking forward to its character and charm and were not disappointed.
The reception area was beautiful and the hotel is in an excellent location.
Our room with balcony was fine, big comfy bed and great shower.
Unfortunately WI-FI was NOT available in the bedroom - disregarding what the hotel might tell you!
Things went downhill rapidly when we started to use the dining facilities - it was a joke!
The food was awful and COLD  - yes I am aware that there is a microwave to warm the food - this only proves they are aware of the problem.
Soggy Brussels and tinned carrots leftovers from previous evening were served at breakfast.
Bacon so thin that when cooked was hard and inedible, toast machine constantly getting stuck and burning, coffee gross. Meat in the evening dishes was tough and inedible 
I could go on and on but I think you get the idea!
And to top it all there just wasn’t enough staff!
We were only able to order drinks with our meal on two occasions as there were no staff.
We had to clear tables and sort out our own tablecloth and cutlery on several occasions.
Eventually the management saw what was going on, and we saw them walking around the dining room looking very grim and next day things did improve
2 lovely young women started who worked REALLY hard to try to keep up 
but they needed MORE help.
When I go on holiday one of the things I really enjoy is having my meals cooked for me - but at the hotel it was no enjoyment.

Please don’t start to using the “ we are only a 3 star hotel”

The star rating is for amenities, quality of service and guest service.

I think your hotel is at best a 2 star

I am not in the habit of writing reviews but on this occasion I just had to warn 
other people 

I, like other saved hard for our holiday 
and it was completely spoilt

What a disappointment!!

I won't bother wasting my time writing a review of this hotel because the Manager attempts to justify the unjustifiable! They CANNOT justify the photos I'm about to post. The only thing I WILL say about the hotel is that the staff don't want to engage with (UK?) clientele  ~ to the point that when they saw us coming, they were awful busy with the computer screen suddenly! Every time we passed reception, we said hello. Every time, we were simply ignored.
If you like a cheap and cheerful break ~ stay away. The staff are NOT friendly or cheerful.
If you want cleanliness  ~ stay away (evidence in photos). If you don't want to be surrounded by "BRITS GO HOME" posters, don't go to this part of the island. 
If you have any mobility issues do NOT go here!! It's very hilly with steep steps too.

Very dirty hotel.

The staff at reception first of all does not speak English. My door key didn't work 4 times had to be changed until they gave me another room. The breakfast was awful. Cold and no choice. The shower was a hose over the bath. Furniture was so old and dated.. Horrible place

STAY AWAY

Spent 12 nights in this beautiful Hotel in Puerto de La Cruz Teneriffe.
This was my 5th time staying at this wonderful Hotel.

it is super Central and very convenient to Restaurants and the beach and promenade.

The biggest asset to this Hotel is the awesome staff.

 The super cool and caring Geraldo the Assistant Manager was amazing with his knowledge and efficiency. Jesus on reception was always friendly and welcoming to guests and very knowledgeable.

The food in the restaurant was among the best on offer in Puerto De la Cruz.

I also had the pleasure of meeting the Hotel owner and his family for the first time.
A beautiful family who take great interest in their guests.

Alexandre in the restaurant was one of the best waitresses I have every met.

Fantastic English and great knowledge of all the menu. Super efficient and has a great career ahead of her. Surely, Management material in the not to distant future

Cant wait to come back to this amazing hotel.

Well done to the Owners, Manager and superb staff.
