Elysee Hotel

Had one night on my own in Lyon and this was a perfect spot. Felt very safe, central location - so an easy flat walk to the metro (arrived from airport and took tram and metro to hotel). Loads of cafes and restaurants within a 2-10 minute walk. A few supermarkets in the area too. Was able to check in at 2pm. I was on floor 5 which was really quiet. Lift from first floor. Room compact however had everything I needed - effective air con (it was very hot outside) , a comfy bed, a nice shower and all very clean. A great price too. Friendly and welcoming people on reception who were there 24/7.

Perfect for a tourist on a budget

Excellent hotel - great location, clean & reasonably priced.  A very helpful and cheery manager. About 15 minute easy walk to old town. Quiet at night due to shutters. Close to squares, shops, cafes and supermarkets. Would highly recommend.

Excellent location and service

Lovely little hotel in an excellent location. Very close to the metro stop and right in the old town.
I actually felt this hotel was out of place because it’s completely surrounded by high end brand stores, we were right next to Hermes’, Louis Vuitton was just a few doors away, I could keep going. 
Tourist info was just a walk across the square where we got good tips and maps and then simply walked everywhere. On our first night we discovered the restaurant area loaded with so many options it was hard to choose a place, all just a 3 minute walk from the hotel.
Our room was on the small size, typical for France, bed was comfortable and bathroom was adequate. Everything was clean and in good condition. No tea/coffee facilities in the room but you can have breakfast at the hotel, no choices, just a basket of croissants, baguette and pain au chocolat plus coffee, juice and yoghurt. No lift until you get to the first floor, so be prepared to carry your bags up. 
For the price, this place is punching above its weight.

Excellent location, great staff

This Hotel satisfied all my requirements for a good stay. Excellent Location. Great Bed. Very clean. Kind and helpful staff. It had some quirks that go along with staying in an old building which I enjoy.   They warn you about the stairs but the tiny elevator on the 1st floor works great.    It was an excellent choice for us.  No luxury.  Just a great stay in an awesome location.  Place des Jacobins is a lovely fountain park just steps away and a fun place to absorb the atmosphere of being in Lyon, France.
