Campanile Montpellier Sud

I stayed here for one night to break a long drive and wanted somewhere I could take my small dog. This place says it has a restaurant and outdoor seating area, which it does, so I was convinced I had the night stop set up. Take a plate of food outside and eat it with my dog beside me. What could possibly go wrong?? Well what went wrong was that it was Saturday night and the restaurant was closed. There was NO mention of this on the website. It was between a KFC and a Burger King and the litter around the property (but not the hotel car park) was terrible. Discarded clothes, cardboard coffee cups, plastic bottles, etc etc. It was difficult to walk the dog. I thought of leaving but was tired so reluctantly stayed. There's an Ibis close by - would probably have been better. Try and find somewhere else.

Called here as it was close to where we satyed. Normally Campanile restaurants are pretty good, though it has been some years since I was last in one. Here the menu choices were quite limited. We had a chicken in a mustard sauce and a burger both with fries. They were OK without being anything special. Their white wine was terrible.

Restaurant visit ONLY. Average Food

Stayed one one enroute from Spain to France. Found the place difficult to find as a new bypass has been built within the existing motorway network to allow traffic to pass straight through Montpellier which meant our Sat nav took us straight through so we had to wait ages for an exit off the motorway to turn around to come back. Added at least 30 minutes extra onto an already long journey. 
The man at reception wasn't the most cheerful and asked if we intended to have dinner in the restaurant and we said we would like to eat at 8.30pm. He seemed put out and said the restaurant closed at 10pm, but we said after an 8 hour drive we wanted a short rest and time to freshen up.
We arrived early and ordered. Food was average for French standards and you could tell it had been warmed in a microwave as some parts of the meal were warmer than others.
Room was fine and beds ok for one night. The fiasco on the bypass would probably make me choose another place to stop on future trips.

Not the best greeting ever

The hotel is close to airport, close to center of Montpellier and close to the Odyssée shopping center. there are easy access. The rooms are nice and clean and easy to access either by lift or by stairs. I had the plessure to have breakfest there in the morning. and service and food was good. I hope to be back again next time i visit Montpellier.
