Irilena Apartments

My family and I stayed here in 2019 and have stayed here since 2003. It has not aged well and the entire complex is falling apart. The old apartments are too small for a family of four to stay for two weeks (which is where we got put), air conditioning was dusty and made my daughter ill since she is allergic, the towels and bed linen were holey and rough. Shower needs updating and the taps, sink and toilet were broken and dirty. The balconies were covered in bird faeces. The newer apartments are slightly bigger and get cleaned more often (we know this from experience as we got put in them one year) however the towels and bed linen were the same and you dont get a lot of balcony privacy. Such a shame as the owners are very nice and welcoming, but we will not be staying here again. The place either needs to be completely knocked down or properly renovated.

Gone downhill

We love this place due to its quiet location and yet easy level access to beach, shops and tavernas, and it was good to see on returning this year for our fifth stay that a lot of maintenance had been done  since our last stay in 2017 (repainting throughout and new sun beds around pool etc.).
The rooms are very basic with a double electric hob, sink, fridge and essential pots and cutlery (toaster/kettle on request). they are clean, big and airy and the beds firm but comfortable but be aware no hairdryer soaps etc . (IT IS Not A Hotel).
 The cleaners only came in four times during our fourteen night stay to clean and change linen which is ok but bins could do with emptying daily!
 Anna (the owner) is as lovely as ever always trying to respond to any requests (if you need something just ask). 
If you want basic peaceful accommodation with a very friendly and helpful host at a very good price (and what more would you want in Wonderful Crete) -- This Is The Place To Come -- We will be back soon.

Another Great Value For money Stay

We stayed at Irilena for 10 days. The location is very good. Not far from the sea, close to restaurants, shops etc. Quiet place, a bit off main street. Those are the best things I can say about Irilena. Not so good things - service was not good at all, cleaning lady appeared, when she wanted to, our towels were changed only once in all 10 days. Warning - ladies, take your hairdryer with you! At Irilena you will not find such a thing, as well as toiletries, even a simplest soap.

Good location, bad sevice

Another great holiday staying at the Irilena apartments. Great location and superb pool. Anna and Eleni were friendly unfortunately we missed Irini this year. Nothing too much trouble.Great company with friend we have met on previous holidays. See you all next year. Yamas. xx
