Location

• Piazza San Marco is a 3 minute walk from the hotel and contains some absolute must-see spots, take a gander at Basilica di San Marco, the Doge's Palace, Caffe Florian and Torre Dell'Orologio.

• 3 minutes of trotting to the eerie Bridge of Sighs, named as such as it's the last sight of Venice that prisoners would have when passing from the Doge's interrogation rooms to their new cells in the prison.

• Modern art fans, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection is a must-see. Take the 6 minute walk to San Marco San Zaccaria ferry stop and speed across the Grand Canal to Salute stop, then another 3 minute stroll will have you at the museum. While there pop by the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute for some plague-time history.

• If you like your art from a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, check out Donatello's only statue in Venice and two Titian paintings, along with the Old Master's tomb. The Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari holds a gorgeous interior, you can reach it with an 8 minute walk to the Vaporetto Line 2 from Rialto to San Toma' A, where another 6 minute walk will have you at the minor Basilica.

• Rialto Bridge and the most iconic selfie you'll ever take is an 8 minute walk to the hotel, and if you stop for some gelato on the way we won't tell! The bustling market neighbourhood of Rialto is just across the famed bridge.

• It's a 15 minute drive from Venice Marco Polo Airport to Piazzale Roma where you can hop on the Vaporetto to Rialto and then you're just an 8 minute walk from the hotel - easy peasy!
