It is located in a convenient location, 3 minutes in walking distance to Otsuka station. Many restaurants are near these hotels; actually two hotels, no. 1 and no. 2.
No. 1 is inside from the main road, and no. 2 is more approachable to main road and bigger size.

One shortcoming is that you can find some 19+ shops such as soap lands and adult bars, and touting can make you be tired.

Near Otsuka station, but many 19+ shops !!!

I visit the hotel at the beginning of April 2016. The location is good by 3-5 minutes walk from Otsuka Station. Also plenty of restaurants in the walking distance. Starbucks is around the corner of the Otsuka station. 

The Otsuka station is part of Yamanote Line. (google for more) This line can bring you every where to the center of Tokyo. 

The service at the front desk is good based on Japanese hospitality standard. Even though the room is tiny but you have everything you need. 

The hotel provides you with washing machine and dryer. They are very useful when you visit for longer period. 

They also provided you with Japanese style breakfast. Don't expect to be very fancy but sufficient. The service start at 7 until 9:30 PM sharp!!! They start to wrap up at exactly 9:30. Really like the punctual of Japanese. 

You can also apply for membership and you can get the discount from the first night. This is superb.

Good location and plenty of foods around

We always stayed at this hotel during our Year-end holiday to Tokyo. It is because, with the price that is offering, and the availability of hotel rooms during peak season, this hotel is one of the best option to stay in Tokyo. Located within 3 mins walking distance from JR Otsuka Station, via Yamanote line, it is very convenient to either travel to Shinjuku to the west or Ueno/Tokyo Station to the east.

The room is clean and newer compared to it's older sibling, which is about 100m away. The breakfast selection is one of the better one among Toyoko Inn chain. 

One minus point to note that they have stopped to provide free WiFi in the rooms, only available at lobby area.

The hotel is at a red light Street, however, it is perfectly safe and convenient for food and amenities. 

Gem during peak holiday season 

The location of this hotel was terrific. It literally took 2 mins from the Yamanote line train platform to the Hotel. Strong wifi on the 5th floor. Staff were very helpful. There are numerous shops and cheap eateries (380 yen) in the area. A Supermarket with a Daiso at the end of the street (head down the street to the left as you exit the front door), 7 eleven, Lawson, Starbucks and Maccas (if that's your thing). I was hesitant at first at there were 2 "red light" looking establishments that you pass on your way to the Hotel but I have to say no one approached us nor were there any sketchy people hanging around. A basic breakfast is provided. The beds are firm to hard, toiletries are provided with a new toothbrush and paste everyday. Razors, combs and some other personal items are available free of charge at the front desk. There is an ice machine and cold and hot water in the lobby also a microwave, vending machine and washer dryer.
