Calypso Hotel

Warm welcome on arrival and easy to check in, Really nice setting right next to sea.Found all staff friendly and helpful.The only thing I could say needs a few upgrades,Rooms could to with more light and removing the shade near mirror would do it.Plus Found it hard to get fresh coffee or drink.But that said I still I still had a nice stay,So I would give it four stars best wishes.

Fantastic location right on the little harbour and next to the beach, close to all the action including the bars, restaurants and diving centres. Staff are friendly, helpful and understanding. We arrived late because the fast ferry was cancelled due to the weather and they kept their kitchen open so we could eat something after a long day’s travel. So good. We got a sea view room which has views of the harbour which was lovely in the morning.

A  basic  hotel:  doesnt  deserve  its  claimed  4  star  rating
Air  con  not  working:  lights  in  rooms  poor:  not  possible  to  read  in  bed  unless  one  had a  headtorch!   Towels  old  and  threadbare = and  not  changed  despite  request
Maid  service  patchy
Despite  the  claim  to  have a  lounge  and  bar there  were  neither. Other advertised  facilities  were  noticeable  by  their  absence
Evening dinner  had a  choice  of  two  main  courses,  neither  of  them  suitable  for  vegetarians
Breakfast  buffet    good,  with  very  wide  range  of  choices.  However  the  many  notices  telling  guests  not  to  fill  water  bottles,  not  to  take  plates  or  food    out  of 
 the  restaurant , etc   rather  distracted from  the  ambioence,  as  did  the  loud,  repetative  'muzak'
Reception  staff  pleasant  and  cheerful,  though  didnt  act on  requests

New  Year  in  Gozo

Positives: the location and cleanliness 
        
Negatives: breakfast was basic and bland at best with limited variety. The same breakfast options were served in a row. Our room had no view whatsoever. In fact the room overlooked other balconies at close proximity and rubbish beyond. Only one TV channel was working in our room.
