The fact this was our 2nd time staying here probably says a lot. It's location is, I believe, it's primary selling point. It is within the old town, which can be quite busy, but it is situated on a relatively quiet street, just off the main square. The rooms, although basic enough, are quite comfortable. The rooftop terrace does offer a quiet suntrap and there are views of the river. Breakfast is quite varied and the attentive staff are friendly. Check in was welcoming and friendly, with a very knowledgeable receptionist, as were the other folk filling this role over the week.

Lagos is fab and certainly Lagosmar Hotel helped our experience

Absolutely awful hotel. Walls are so thin you can hear everything going on in next rooms, corridors, doors banging on closure. Maids are so loud outside bedroom door every morning shouting and clattering  about with hoover.  Had to check out early as couldn’t stand it any longer. 
There are much nicer hotels and same price as this one. I would avoid at all costs. 

Avoid!!!

After a very long trip with transfer from lisbon airport we arrived at the hotel.  Hotel is beautiful, price cannot be beat! The front desk staff was wonderful ( a woman).  The room is spacious could not ask for anything more.  We had a balcony going out to the back which was quite and nice. The bathroom was of an interesting color but it was wonderful, no issues. Water pressure was fantastic with all the ammenities. This is a 2 star hotel but felt way better! The hotel looked tiny but it was quite spacious and large.  The breakfast allthough small in variety in comparison to others was delicous and more than enough.  The staff was wonderful as well. The location could not be better maybe not the exact center but very close to everything and around the corner down the stairs is mammamia cafe with yummy food.

The room is rather spacious with bathroom equipped with a bidet and a small bath tub. There is AC, TV, but no fridge.
There is wardrobe and safety box without a lock (not sure how it works). Rooms towards a yard have a balcony, but rooms towards the street has no balcony.
The street is not really busy, but could be noisy sometimes. The walls do not have a good sound isolation, so ear plugs are recommended.
The hotel has a very good roof-top terrace with chairs, sunbeds and a view. WiFi was stable and with a good speed.
The staff at the reception is very friendly and speaks English. The cleaning service is also good.
There is a breakfast available, but this is for an extra cost.
The closest beach Praia da Batata is located 800m from the hotel. Meia Praia is in 1.5km on the other side of the river.
The train station is located in 900m, the bus station is in 650 m.
1 km to the Lidl, the closest Pingo Doce is being re-innovated, another one in 1.3 km. Intermarche is in 1.3 km.
The town market is just in 100m from the hotel. Excursion booths could be found along river bank and in Marina on the route to the train station.
The are lots of restaurants nearby in the old town.
