This is definitely one of my unforgettable hotel experiences (I have travelled to over 90 different countries throughout the years)! The location perfect, the hotel itself beautiful and unique; The staffs outstanding, breakfast delicious and service impeccable. You need not look further for your home In Lisbon.  
If there is some thing for improvement that is to upgrade the mattresses, they are too soft for my partner who could not sleep in them.

Excellent stay. Our room (Tower) was amazing. Loads of space and the view was great. There are lots of stairs and no lift up to the room but the staff were so helpful with taking our luggage up for us. All the staff we encountered were so helpful and friendly and made our stay even better. We even had a little gift left in our room for New years Eve. Breakfast was fresh and delicious too. The hotel itself is not accessible by car but taxis can get fairly close by and so many things like restaurants, bars and public transport stops are walking distance so we only actually needed to use a taxi to and from the airport anyway.

This was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at.  When we travel we always look for hotels that are cultural, historical and charming.  What a magnificent place.  The service was outstanding, breakfast delicious, and tea and coffee delivered to your room after a long day an added delight.  Our room included a living room with Tagus river views and a massive bathroom with a claw-foot bathtub.

We spent 3 wonderful nights at the Palacete Chafariz D'ei Rei which is located in the Alfama neighborhood of Lisbon. We chose this hotel for many reasons including its historical significance and its location.  
We stayed in the 3 story Luxury Suite that included spectacular views from its balconies.  On the first floor is a spacious bedroom and bathroom (with the largest shower we have ever seen) and a living room (that included a refrigerator with complimentary drinks).  The second floor has a sitting area that includes a telescope and a wraparound balcony that includes a patio table and chairs.  From the second-floor balcony you can take a flight of outside stairs that gives you access to the top floor which is an open-air viewing platform with lounge chairs and an unbelievable view of Alfama and the river.   
With all the above said, what sets this hotel apart is its amazing staff and the service they provide which includes a delicious breakfast each morning.  From the moment we arrived until we departed, Xavier and his staff provided us with exceptional service.  
If you want to stay in a fabulous place in a fabulous city, we highly recommend Palacete Chafariz D'ei Rel in Lisbon.  
P.S. Many of the historical tours make a stop outside of the Palacete.
