I had a very good experience there, especially with a receptionist named Mr. Hasan, who welcomed us warmly and was very helpful. I would recommend it to anyone. A fascinating environment with great staff, visiting such a hotel is wonderful, and I recommend everyone to come here and enjoy their time.

My stay at Olimpiyat Hotel was superb, thanks to the outstanding service from Hasan. His professionalism and friendliness made the experience exceptional. His attentive and customer centric approach, with an open ear for guests, made my stay even more remarkable. Truly commendable!

Nice hotel with a great receptionist, especially Hasan.

It was a pleasant stay. Staff were friendly an effecient. Room size was good. We had a family room with 2 beds and a bunk bed. Bathroom size nice. Breakfast buffet is adeqate but could use more variety. Location is perfect. Great value for money.

A pleasent experience

Do not trust the rating from a first time contributor here.

This is our second visit to Istanbul. Getting to this hotel was not easy. Our driver could not find the perfect spot to stop as the small road in front of the hotel was closed to traffic. In the end we alighted at Muradiye Caddesi which was a very long way to the hotel. With our luggage in tow, it was a troublesome walk along the busy street and finally an uphill climb to the hotel.

The 6 of us booked four rooms for 7 nights. We were given rooms on the first, second and third floors. All the rooms were very small. The shower area is cram and the water will not drain out quickly and caused a flood. The room on the 1st floor had an unpleasant smell. The room on the 3rd floor had very poor water pressure. It was impossible to get a good shower. 

The rooms have no view. The windows open to reveal electrical shafts. Room soundproofing is poor. We can hear voices from adjacent rooms.

The small lift (elevator) fits 4 people and stop in between floors. The lift has 2 doors but 1 door must be opened manually. There is no bellhop service and it was inconvenient to drag our luggage up or down the staircase.

All the rooms are not safe because the door chains are too long and anyone can slip a hand in to take out the door key or unhook the chain lock. The door key is inserted next to the door to activate the room lights. We tested this out in every room and we could remove the door chains and room keys. We took a video of this as proof. 2 of our rooms were disturbed by someone playing with the door knobs at night. 

We drank cai (tea) at the lobby but the reception staff tried to charge double the price when the actual price of 20TL was clearly displayed on the board.

Breakfast menu was the same everyday except for 1 or 2 dishes. Taste-wise was inconsistent, some days it was too hard or salty.

We paid 1200TL per room for late checkout, and 1500TL for airport transfer. When checking out, all our luggage was heavier from all the shopping. It was a real struggle for us in our late 60s. When floor staffs saw us leaving our rooms with the luggage, none offer to help and they disappeared quickly.

We regret choosing this hotel and will not recommend staying here.
