We spent two nights at the Tru Hotel before heading out on a cruise. 

First impressions were good - the hotel is modern, fresh and spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly and approachable, and offered us a choice of floors. We went for a high floor (7th), which was fine until we needed to check out and had to wait for a lift! There are nice views of the city from up there. 

The room was clean and fresh, as was the bathroom which was spotless. The beds are reasonably comfortable, but we found the air con distractingly loud so had to turn it off overnight. The rooms are fairly basic but this is a no-frills arm of Hilton so we expected that. 

Unfortunately on our second night there was a lot of noise from someone playing loud music into the late night, which disturbed us. I was able to message reception from the app and they assured us it would be followed up. There is also some noise transfer between rooms, we had some noisy neighbours but it wasn’t the end of the world. 

We didn’t check out the pool on level 3 but have heard it’s nice, so worth a look if you visit. 

The hotel feels a little isolated in a primarily residential area, but there were a few restaurants in walking distance. There was a McDonalds 15 minutes walk away. There wasn’t really anywhere nearby for breakfast so it’s good that breakfast is included here. 

This place is worth a visit, but be prepared for some noise.

Clean, fresh, new, no-frills hotel.

Went to miami for our honeymoon and stayed in this hotel.  Was on 7th floor.  Room clean and tidy lots of USB plug WiFi works perfectly. Receptionist very friendly also used wallet parking was cheap. Breakfast was good and coffee tea  drinks unlimited during the day as well  . Happy with my stay and definitely come back here even with kid's.

Excellent stay

We stayed here for one night before our cruise left the next day. Ready to get to from the airport and close to the port. Breakfast buffet is nothing special, but the location is not bad. I wouldn't stay there for a longer visit, but for one night it worked fine. 

Pre cruise hotel

The room was nice looking and well laid out (mostly). Lots of plugs and USB ports for charging. However, there isn't a fan in the bathroom so the other person in the room can hear everything & it doesn't clear steam or anything else. Unpleasant.
Next, communication was severely lacking. What time is check out? No idea. I went to the lobby and stood there behind a few people that were taking forever. No one asked if I needed anything or had a question. So I gave up and went back upstairs.
When I got the text saying to text us with any questions, I asked about check out. I got the answer more than 30 minutes later & I was told 11am. I had given up on getting an answer so I looked around (no page with information, no welcome booklet or brochure etc.) Then I checked the back of the door which clearly says check out is noon.
And I went to the lobby to get hot water for my tea that I like to drink before bed. Once my tea had steeped and was cool enough to drink - it tasted like coffee. I didn't pour coffee, the urn had obviously been used for coffee recently. It gave a terrible coffee flavor to my tea. I gave up and poured it out.
Not a great experience.
