This property feels somewhat improvised, like it was initially intended to be a condo building for students and somehow ended up being a hotel.  It sits right on super busy, S. Dixie Highway, bumper to bumper traffic - not ideal -  parking is shared with a condo building next door, access to the hotel is not hotel like, it could be cleaner.   The rooms are spacious yet poorly  furnished.  Not enough closet space, not one single drawer...  a nice chair instead of the cheap looking Pier-One like cube  ottomans would help... maybe a piece of furniture for the  mini fridge that sits sadly on the floor, underneath the desk.... 
The bathroom is super spacious but... God, such poor quality towels belong at the Hampton Inn!!!   if I had those at home I would donate them.  I mean, at  USD 500 plus a night....get some nice plush oversize  towels, and add some hand towels and wash clothes!   
They absolutely positively need to up their game there.
The positives:  Responsive front desk, charming, warm.  Nice wait staff at breakfast...good expresso machine in the room... oh...but no kettle or tea....  
Anyways, I guess the place is ok but for that kind of money even as a Hilton Diamond member I would go elsewhere, maybe the Epic in Brickell?    
They used to have The Gabriel on Biscayne Blvd. as part of their Curio Collection and it was much nicer.

Great hotel mainly because of Janay—front desk hostess— very welcoming and looking after me and my wife.

Awaiting the birth of a grandchild

We had a room an a suite for a wedding party.  Janay at the front desk bent over backwards making sure everything went perfect.  It was like are concerns were her personal problems.  Everyone we spoke to at the hotel went out of there way to help us.  This place was wonderful.

Unbelievable time at Thesis

Had a wonderful weekend at this very clean and beautifully landscaped property in Coral Gables. Was great to escape to Miami for a weekend in the high 60s after a cold, snowy week back home. Shout out to housekeeping who did a wonderful job on the room. It was ultra-clean and nicely freshened daily including new water bottles. Loved the high quality bathroom amenities for shampoo, soap, and lotion. Fantastic, large television with the ability to connect to Netflix. Bed was quite comfortable. Pool and fitness center were top-notch and well enjoyed. There was a wedding going on which added to a festive, fun, and happy ambience throughout. Enjoyed the complimentary coffee, water in lobby.

Loved being able to walk to the Univ. of Miami campus. You're literally right across the street from the basketball arena, and there is a pedestian bridge to safely cross over the busy street to the main campus. Highly recommend seeing the Lowe Art Museum which has a free admission. Hotel is in a safe area with lots of great restaurants to walk to close by too such as the fantastic Madruga Bakery. Nice to also have an excellent Publix Grocery Store, Shake Shack, and McDonald's within a short walk too.

Just a few minor negatives that prevented giving five stars as a Curio property. Upon check-in late on a Fri. night, was not welcomed. The woman at desk did not smile, and did not seem happy to give me a plastic key upon request after I had done a digital check-in. When I inquired if any upgrades were available for Hilton Diamond members, I got no response. (This request also went ignored via text to Daniel earlier in the day after he replied he would check on it.) The website showed these upgrades were available on Fri. & Sat. The 1 King bedroom was quite small, and didn't even include a small refrigerator or a sitting chair/couch. There was also an unusual painting of scantilly clad women in swimsuits hanging on the wall. The only breakfast option was way overpriced. $45 for a breakfast buffet ($35 plus tax + 20% gratuity automatically added without your consent) was outrageous! Perhaps this is because you get $20 per day for food/drink on top of your Hilton Diamond food & beverage credit. Service was also extremely slow and the buffet was out of items at 10 AM.

But, overall, I enjoyed this property and would recommend it highly. Would gladly return one day. Thanks for a magical, relaxing weekend in South Florida!
